shp-30

So I promised something was going to be announced on the site… and yes I know you all know that Sharpen Pro 3.0 has been out for a while.  However, you may not have known that I was working on an addendum chapter for the book that discusses some ways to use SHP 3.0.  And now you can download it FREE from Wiley right here.  The chapter covers the basics of SHP 3.0 and was written with the fact that the user interface is the same as the other great programs from Nik so I cut out that part and added a lesson on using Display sharpening for all of us bloggers out on the web.

Also, just as another goody for all the readers out there in case you didn’t know Nik Software has a site up so that you can download styles for Silver Efex Pro 1.0.  If you didn’t know it existed, now you do.  You can head over there by clicking this link.  There are a lot a great styles on there.
Enjoy…

Well, I have been quiet on the blog lately and that is because I’m going full speed to wrap up the book. It has been a great time working on it an I thought that since this is my 100th post I would share a few of the shots that will be in he book to wet your whistle a little bit. These image are from a shoot I did with my good friends Erica and Roger. I did some before and afters so you can get an idea of the effects. All these image were finished in Color Efex 3.0 in less that a minute of opening the image.

This is the original shot.

Here’s the final image. I wanted to see if I could get the Dave Hill look inside of Color Efex 3.0 and I was able to in no time. If you want to know how, it will be in the book.

Here is one more…

This is the original shot of Roger and one of his favorite guitars.

Here’s the final, again finished inside of Color Efex 3.0 in just under a mintute ( I swear i actually used a stopwatch).  I was inspired by the old rock grunge posters.
