Wow! All I can say is that it was a great weekend for shooting around my hometown. I went out with my good friend Kevin to shoot wildflowers on Saturday, but it ended up that wildflowers are not really blooming yet. So we switched from flowers to old buildings and headed off for some of the older towns in the county. This is a bit of what I found while we were out and about…

We did find a batch a these little guys in between towns on the side of the road, so we stopped and shot. The flower is actually only about a centimeter across, but the color is great.

We hit the first town and started photographing the old abandoned buildings, I didn’t even notice at first that this was and old camera store. I am pretty sure it had been out of business for a very long time.

After running around one town we headed to the next one up the road. Right as we drove in we saw this old Coca Cola add that must have been painted on in the 80′s. It was faded pretty badly, so I brought it into Photoshop and used a few Nik filters to bring some life back into it.
From there we head to an old museum that housed a lot of the oilfield history in the area. The folks there were incredibly nice and let us shoot inside. Most of the items at the museum were from the late 1800′s up to the mid 1900′s. Most of the stuff I found was dated 1910. We both shot for 2 hours there and didn’t even finished with the front half of the place.

It was a great time..
