Ok, so when I say Spartans I don’t mean the guys in the movie 300 (however they were also cool), I’m talking about this amazing old 5th wheel trailer that is out at Cisco. We went and photographed it the other day, but when we got there this evening the light was just making it incredible. When I was photographing the images above I had in my head that old school Art Deco style that you see back in old travel brochures and posters. So I used a tool that I know could let me get what I wanted Color Efex 3.0.

Just as the last rays of sunlight dove behind the mountains they poured into this barely standing shack and lit up the window. What a great day.

So we rolled out of our hotel the morning in search of ghosts (towns that is).  We headed out towards a place called Cisco, and let me tell you this wasn’t a ghost town, but a photographic gold town.  This place has everything if you know where to look.  This old trailer is on it’s last legs but man did it look great.  I knew when I took the shot exactly how I wanted it to look so I worked this image up using one of the tips and tricks I have in my upcoming book.  Want to know how I did it?  Then you’ll have to get the book.

This was another great find just a little to the South of the trailer above.  The emblem was almost completly faded away but I used Color Efex 3.0 to revive the last bits of color fro this 1930s trailer.

And finally, this amazing door that Laurie found stashed away in an old house made of railroad ties.  I tell you what I can’t wait to get back there and shoot some more.

Tonight we went out to Dead Horse State Park (I have no idea why they call it that, adn I don’t know if I want to know).  The sun just started to set when we arrived glancing a few stray rays of light across the canyon below.  Tomorrow we head off fo adventure a potentially great find.
