Ok, so by now if you have seen Moose’s blog you know that a new Nik Software program called Viveza is on its way. While I was out with Moose shooting I got a chance to try it out, and YES Canon shooters this is your answer to NX!!!
This a quick example of some of Viveza’s power. First off, I would like to point out that this is a Canon Raw file. You can work with your Raw file with Viveza. Over the course of the last year every time Capture NX was demoed at a DLWS event I automatically got the question “Josh, what program can we use to get this same effect with Canon Raw files?” Well, here is your answer. The only step that you will still have to perform in CS3 is setting your black point and white point for color cast removal.
I can’t wait to get this on my own computer so I can really put this program to the test. The user interface is a lot like Color Efex 3.0 so the learning curve is really fast (I had this example image done in about 20 seconds). That upoint technology is really an amazing thing.
