OK, I know yet another HDR image, but you know what it is fun to play with the new HDR Efex Pro from Nik Software. Funny part is I really just like doing those single shot HDR images and seeing what I can some up with next. In this case it was this shot from last weekend. In color it just lacked something in HDR. The blue in the sky was so overdirven (my own doing) that I just could find a happy medium to play with, so what did I do? Black and White baby!!! Now this time around I didn’t do my usual flow of working in HDR, exporting, then diving into Silver Efex pro. Instead I did everything form inside HDR Efex Pro and I like the results…

Any how with all the holidays coming up I imagine things are going to quite down on the blog (like there already are not) but I will have some neat stuff coming up soon. The Life@50 project is coming to a close soon, and new endeavors are on the horizon along with the continuation of the Pen and Pad project, that had a few set backs this year, but will see a triumphant come back this upcoming year…

Found these nuts and blots covered in grinding dust.

Found this on the side of the machine, pretty sure it was some type of gear box.

Settings dial for the one of the machines.

It is amazing what you can find in places. I came away with some shots I really enjoy.

Hey Everyone,

Well I know it has been almost a month and a half since I blogged and for that I apologize but for personal reasons it just could not be helped. If I could have I would have but there was not any way possible. But, now i am slowly getting back in the saddle and getting back behind the camera. Since I was feeling a bit rusty I decided just to take a stroll around the yard and see what I could find string about after the first couple of rains in my home town. So I figure to start out light and get back into it I would slap on my Canon 100f2.8 and have some fun doing some hand held macro work. This would build the hand hold technique back up and give me small targets that I did not have to chase around. So here is what I found…

These were all shot in the yard, just having a good time. I found some cool mushrooms growing out front and a very cool seed pod hanging from a tree. I finished them in post with Nik Color Efex Pro 3.0 and Silver Efex.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
