OK, strange title?  Yes, I agree, but honestly I didn’t know how this would turn out until I finished it.  What you see below was shot with an iPhone.  Yes, I know I have been on a bit of a iPhone shooting kick lately, but hey it is honestly a good way to learn composition in some aspects.  You have to move to get the shot not sit there and zoom in so you are always looking for an angle and plus it give you a new way of looking at things…

The pano was shot using a free Microsoft iPhone app call Photosynth.  It is pretty user friendly and process images quickly.  I dropped it into Photoshop and did some quickk editing with some SEP 2.0, some Dfine, and finally Sharpener Pro 3 to pop the rock just a bit, and presto…

I know I didn’t do Half Dome justice in this pano, but it was that amazing sky that was stealing the show that day for me.

Pretty neat what that little camera can do with some great apps behind it

So I got to do something I hadn’t done in a while and that was teach my method of how to do panoramic shots. On the last day of shooting we went out to Guadalupe State Park and were photographing the Cypress trees in the area. So I set up my equipment just like I instructed the folks on doing and took the shot below. It was a total of 13 images all together and then combined into Photoshop. I did so many captures because I wanted to make sure that there were not going to be in anomalies in the images from too little overlap. I think it turned out looking really sharp and even money says that this will make a great canvas once I get the APC guys to print it for me. There is just one problem…

Should it be in Color???

Or in Black and White???

Let me know what you all think…

Did a quick conversion on this to give it more life.  The greens were a bit faded and I knew going to B&W would revitalize it, so I dropped it into Silver Efex Pro 2 and the result is below.  The shot is from the springs just above Gorman Falls.  A wonderful place to hang out and shoot for the morning…
