About Josh

Ever since Josh was young he has been interested in photography. When he started out he shot with whatever disposable camera he could get his hands on. From there as with most people, life got in the way and Josh went to college where he received a degree in Biology. Once he graduated he picked up the camera again. This time a Canon Elan 7, which he loved.

But shortly after he became interested in digital and once he got his first digital camera (a Canon 300D) he was hooked. From there he went on to shoot with the Canon 20D, and that is when things got really serious. Josh met is now friend and mentor Moose Peterson. The first time they met it was in a private tutoring session to help Josh focus his style and learn where he need to improve in his photography. From there Josh took it a step further and tried out for Moose’s Master Light Program.

During the program Moose asked Josh to be his assistant. Josh was helping Moose as his assistant during DLWS and as the co-instructor of Wildlife Photographer’s Base Camp.  Now he is out and about taking photographs and enjoying every bit of it.

In October of 2008 he had his first book published on finishing in post entitled:

The Official Nik Software Image Enhancement Guide: The Photographer’s Resource for Professional Workflow Techniques

If your wondering, Josh now shoots with the Canon 1D Mark IIN and has no plans on changing systems.
