So recently I saw a post from Kirk Tuck and it got me thinking about something B&W portraits.  At which point it got me thinking about a blog post that Sabrina Henry did a while back about going back and review old photos and adding a new look to them.  So with the double inspiration I dug back in the files and found these shots of my good friends Jeff and Misty

Has a great time shooting these, we found the great old door in the back alley parking lot of a local pub and stayed there for the better part of an hour shooting.

The conversion for this was done in Silver Efex Pro

  1. Thank you Josh! These are really good and you know how I like the B&W for portraits.

  2. These are wonderful shots Josh and to think they were taken with a Canon. Kidding.

I’ve always admired your B&W work and would love to learn more about how you use Silver Efex Pro for the conversion. It’s a pretty big program with lots of different settings to understand. Do you create your own presets in SXP?

  3. We must be on the same wave length. Just tonight I revisited an image from the past and used Nik Silver to do the B&W conversion.

These portraits are sharp. Look great!

  4. Ray, Mark, and Jeff thank you for all the comments..

Mark you know what they say, crazy people think alike :)

Jeff, I swear at some point I will find the time to do those videos I have been trying to work on.

  5. Josh – I’m a fan of yours – make those videos! If ya do, I’ll promote ‘em!

  6. Sorry I’m so late to the blog here, Josh. I always envy (in a good way) people who create great portraits and somehow black and white always whispers loudly to me. Love these!
