So, this is a new stretch for me.  I have not done a “multiplicity” shot ever, but it seems to have turned out pretty nice.  This was party of the engagement shoot for Jeff and Misty.  The shot was taken in the back of the Redlands Police Dept.  It had a great mural on it and the stairs lent themselves nicely to the effect.

Captured with 1D Mark IIN 16-35f2.8 II on Lexar digital film. Finished in Nik Silver Efex Pro

  1. Nice shot Josh!

So how did you do this? I just gotta ask!

  2. Hey Jeff,

Great to hear from you. It was a pretty quick process. I composed the shot with the background and the stairs. Then locked the camera down on my tripod. I focused on the far stair rail so I could keep the focus and exposure the same for all 3 shots (f19 in camera for DOF). Then I just had Jeff and Misty move around to different positions make sure that they didn’t crowd thier otherselves in the image.

I merged them all with image stack (making sure to check Align images), and once the stacked up I just used masking to bring each image through. I finished it off in Silver Efex Pro with a new style I have been working with, and that did it…

    Hope you are doing well
